Webinar
Exercise Prescription and Stress: Using HRV to Understand Load and Recovery
Tuesday 7 July at 2 PM (UK Time)
Exercise is often promoted as a solution for stress and mental health, yet for recreational athletes and highly active individuals already under significant life stress, training itself also contributes to overall physiological load. In this webinar, Dr Bernadette Dancy explores what the literature says about exercise, chronic stress, recovery, and burnout, alongside how HRV-informed monitoring through Firstbeat Life can help coaches and practitioners better understand the interaction between training stress and life stress in real-world settings.
During the webinar, we will discuss:
- What the literature says about exercise for stress and burnout
- Why more exercise is not always better during periods of chronic stress
- Common behaviours of stressed recreational athletes / high-performing individuals
- How HRV data monitoring can support training and recovery
- Practical considerations for exercise prescription in stressed populations
